This is the first official post of the new A.C.E. blog! As I mentioned in the side bar, this will be the place to go to check out what happened at meetings and at any other events we had. Feel free to comment on individual posts or to send me an email. Also, if you feel like there is something that should be added to the blog let me know, and I will try to make it happen.
We had our first official meeting on Monday, September 24th. It was a great chance for everyone to reconnect after the summer and to introduce some new faces.
The main goal of the meeting was to discuss additional fundraising opportunities for the semester in addition to the usual pottery sale. We discussed having a bake sale or even a coffee and treat sale where if you bought some coffee, you also got a ceramic cup. We had some great ideas put out there. If anyone has any other suggestions please feel free to add anything.
The pottery sale will be around the usual date, the beginning of December. We don't want to get too close to the holiday break and finals. No one needs the added stress of setting up and working a big sale like that.
We also started a preliminary list of people interested in going to NCECA this year. It will be in Philadelphia, PA. If you give us your name it doesn't mean you are committed to going. It is more about us putting out some feelers. It should be a great conference this year. If you are unsure of what NCECA is make sure you check out the link I posted to the left. This is a great conference to attend with many wonderful learning opportunities and a lot of fun too =).
