Christa Assad Workshop and Lecture

We were very privileged to have Bay Area potter Christa Assad come to the University of Arkansas last week, September 24th - 25th. She was in the studio both days demonstrating her wheel and handbuilding techniques. It was a great opportunity to see someone who makes a living as an artist go through the process. Yes folks, it can be done! She managed to get a lot done in a short amount of time and answered a lot of student questions. She also had some great stories to share =). Christa also gave a lecture Thursday night on her influences and the evolution of her work. It was a great opportunity to see how her work had developed.

Workshops are wonderful opportunities to not only learn more about technique but a great chance to talk to artists who have a lot of experience behind them. It is something that should not be missed.

Stay tuned for the visiting artists that we will have coming in the Spring. We have some good ones!
